HOW TO MAKE A PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE 💛

….my attempt at making the classic fall beverage

At the start of fall, I made a point of adding “make a homemade pumpkin spice latte” to my to-do list for the season! This week, I finally had the ingredients to make it happen…..here’s how it went!

The Ingredients

Upon doing 10 minutes of intense research (thanks google), I knew my main ingredients needed to be milk, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spice, and coffee.

  • 2 Tbsp. Pumpkin Puree

  • 1 Cup Oat Milk (or whatever milk you prefer)

  • 2 Tbsp. Maple Syrup

  • 1/2 Tsp Pure Vanilla Extract

  • 1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon

  • 1/4 Tsp. Ground Nutmeg

  • 1/4 Tsp. Ground Ginger

  • 1 Shot of Espresso

  • Light Whipped Cream

Step-by-step process….

Step One: Add pumpkin puree, oat milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract to a medium pot and set stove to medium-low heat. Continue to stir until mixture has heated up to desired temperature.

Step Two: Add in spices to milk mixture and a shot of espresso. Whisk everything together until combined, and transfer to mug of choice.

Step Three (optional….but is it really?!): Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Step Four: Appreciate the masterpiece you just created— snap a pic!

I was overall pretty impressed with this one— the only thing I find a bit hard about homemade lattes like this is the fact that I find the spices eventually settle to the bottom of the mug, and I can’t stomach the last third (any solutions to this? Let me know in the comments below)!

Nonetheless, it’s fun to try making something different….I think the whipped cream added a great extra touch of sweetness and oo-la-la factor, so definitely recommend not skipping that step 😏
